Summer School Evening Programs

Everyone is encouraged to learn the dances for the programs at Summer School. We hope that you find many of them familiar with a few new dances thrown in for fun. We are continuing to use the designation of dances according to the RSCDS levels with wheat sheafs as our symbol this summer.

      Suitable for everyone
An experienced partner would be helpful
  For more confident dancers

* = dance also appears on the Summer School Ball program

Musicians' Concert

Wednesday, July 29, 2026

Join us for an evening of music presented by our staff musicians. This treat is always a surprise as the musicians have been given free rein to perform whatever kind of music they like. A great way to come back together after an afternoon of touring the area. And no dances to learn!

Speculative Fiction Theme Night Dance

Thursday, July 30, 2026

Devisor: Charles Liu

Step beyond the familiar and into a world of what if? — where fairies slip between sets, time bends with the music, and Scottish country dancing unfolds in imagined futures, parallel worlds, and enchanted glens. Inspired by science fiction, fantasy, folklore, and myth, this social dance invites curiosity and creativity. Costumes are welcome but optional, from subtle hints to whimsical touches, while the dancing remains firmly traditional and the atmosphere delightfully otherworldly.
