On Saturday, April 4, 2026, the inaugural North American Scottish Country Dance Festival will take place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

CLASSES

Entry Fee for Each Class is US$40 per team

Teams may make their own choice of dances within the rules

Class 1: Social Demonstration

Two dances to be named on the Entry Form, one in Strathspey and one in Reel or Jig time.

Class 2: High Impact Technique

Two dances to be named on the Entry Form, one in Strathspey and one in Reel or Jig time.

Class 3: 13 years old and under

Two dances to be named on the Entry Form, one in Reel and one in Jig time.

Class 4: 18 years old and under

Two dances to be named on the Entry Form, one in Strathspey and one in Reel or Jig time.

Class 5: Improvers

Less than 2 years of dancing experience

Two dances to be named on the Entry Form, one in Strathspey and one in Reel or Jig time.

Class 6: Open Technique

One dance from the MacNab RSCDS publication.

Class 7: Display

This class will be judged on the entertainment value of the display through the medium of Scottish Country Dances.

Awarded for the best performance in Class 1

The Madison Scottish Country Dancers Cup​

Awarded for the best performance in Class 2

The Rosedale Cup​

Awarded for the best performance in Class 3

The RSCDS Chicago Branch Cup​

Awarded for the best performance in Class 4

The Broadway Cup​

Awarded for the best performance in Class 5

The RSCDS St Catharines Branch Cup​

Awarded for the best performance in Class 6

The Austin Silver Cup​

Awarded for the best performance in the Display Class


N.B. Trophies will become the responsibility of the winners after they have signed an undertaking to be responsible for their safekeeping and for their return to the Festival Committee, cleaned and in good condition.



PHOTOGRAPHY
In order to comply with regulations, it is necessary for us to inform participants and spectators that photography and video of children’s groups is restricted to parents and accredited group leaders. They may only photograph and video the group in which their own children are participating. With respect to child protection, all participants and spectators are also asked to report anything suspicious immediately.
