This fund provides scholarships based on financial need to candidates wishing to attend Teacher Candidate Classes at the Scottish Country Dance Teachers' Association (Canada) Summer School.

The fund was established in 1973 as an endowment bursary system.  It was designated as THE SILVER JUBILEE SCHOLARSHIP FUND in 1983, our Silver Jubilee Year, and renamed THE JUBILEE SCHOLARSHIP FUND in 2008. The interest earned by the fund finances the scholarships.

Scholarships for all candidate classes are available and may be granted subject to the approval of the TAC Chairman, Treasurer, and Summer School Director. The amount given is dependent on the number of applicants and whether other sources of support are available.

The application must be counter-signed by an RSCDS Branch or Affiliated Group Chairman or Secretary, or by a qualified teacher of Scottish Country Dancing who is currently a member of the Scottish Country Dance Teachers' Association (Canada). The completed application form must be submitted to the T.A.C. Exam Coordinator at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Ron Wallace's love and understanding of Scottish dance and music
make him a familiar name on workshop staffs internationally. Scottish
Country, Highland, Step and Cape Breton comprise the majority of the
classes Ron teaches, with some Welsh and English thrown in for balance!
In 1977 Ron received his RSCDS Full Certificate from Miss Milligan.
Invitations have brought his infectious enthusiastic teaching to many
Scottish dance centres. He has taught Scottish Country Dance
classes/courses for teachers or dancers in Australia, Austria, St.
Andrews Summer School, TAC Summer School, Pinewoods, Czech Republic,
England, Slovak Republic, Poland, Germany, Japan, Switzerland, Norway,
France, and Hungary. Ron recently became an examiner for the RSCDS and
has already examined in Canada, U.S.A., and Scotland.
For the past 25 years Ron has been the artistic director of Dunsmuir
Scottish Dancers presenting many Scottish dance forms in festivals in
western United States as well as Europe.
At home in Northern California, Ron is kept busy with weekly classes in
Country, Highland and Step dance and Highland Bagpipes, playing descant
recorder and pipes in a local Scottish Country Dance Band "Hood, Wink
and Swagger".

TAC maintains a network of representatives for each recognized geographic area, worldwide, where there are members. These Area Representatives serve as a liaison between the Executive and the membership at large. At regular intervals throughout the year, the Area Reps’ Coordinator, who is a member of the Executive, sends updates on TAC activities to the Area Representatives. They then forward these reports to the TAC members in their respective areas. A member who wishes to bring something to the attention of the Executive may do so through the link between the Area Representative and the Coordinator.

A meeting of Area Representatives is held each year in conjunction with the TAC Annual General Meeting. Representatives are encouraged to attend the meetings and to submit agenda items for discussion.
