TAC Summer School is open to all Scottish Country Dancers from basic to advanced and from beginner to experienced.
Registration period ended 20 June
NOTE:
Participation at morning and afternoon classes and the Banquet and Ball requires advance on-line pre-paid registration as a Summer School registrant (see Registration Information). All evening events are also included in the registration fee.
Non-registrants can attend evening events on Sunday through Friday on an individual-evening, pay-as-you-go basis at a cost of $20 per person per evening paid at the door. Advance notification is not required.

Sunday 23 July 2017
On-site event registration 2:00 - 6:00 pm: main lounge of həm'ləsəm' House residence, Totem Park
Residence room check-in starts 3:00 pm: main lounge of həm'ləsəm' House residence, Totem Park
Dinner 5:00 - 6:30 pm: Coquihalla Commonsblock Dining Room, Totem Park
Short orientation/welcome session at 7:15 pm: Great Hall, The AMS Nest

All evening events are held in the Great Hall, AMS Nest

Four evening social dance programmes of 10 Scottish Country Dances starting at 7:30 pm with music provided by the Staff Musicians

- Wednesday evening with Old Time Dancing (classical sequence dancing) taught by Ruth Jappy
- Thursday Ceilidh provides an opportunity to display your talents, whether singing, reciting, dancing, acting, or anything else entertaining.

Dance descriptions at http://my.strathspey.org/dd/list/9190/ Summer School Ball Booklet will be included in the Registration Packet at UBC. All ball dances are also included in the evening social dances.
After the formal events on each evening, light refreshments will be available in the lounge in Hemlesem House residence.
Week-day Mornings Monday through Friday 24-28 July
All morning classes are held in the AMS Nest starting at 9:00 am
Four levels of dance classes will be offered on Monday through Friday. Morning classes will be taught by the Summer School Staff Teachers with music provided by the Summer School Staff Musicians.
Teachers and musicians will rotate so that all dancers experience a variety of teaching and music during the week.

Afternoons Monday through Friday 24-28 July
Afternoons of Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday will feature a wide selection of optional classes
Teachers for optional classes are drawn from the Summer School Staff and from TAC teachers attending Summer School. Consequently the selection of optional classes depends on the availability of qualified teachers in attendance and will not be finalized until late June.
Optional classes are expected to include: Evening Dance Review, Individual Technique, Specialty SCD dances, Ceilidh Dancing, Music Appreciation, Choir
Additionally, TAC Summer School 2017 is offering a 4-afternoon Dancing Achievement Course open to resident and non-resident dancers. For more information see DAA Course 2017
Wednesday afternoon is at your lesiure to relax or take in local sight-seeing options of your choice

Tuesday Beach Night SC Dance
Casual dress night, wear your shorts and flip flops.
Wednesday Concert Extravaganza Concert
Relax and enjoy the five talented musicians as they perform in
concert at the Centennial theatre.
Thursday Black & White Night SC Dance
Add a little or a lot of black and white for a touch of drama.
Ceilidh Friday
Come ready to perform: whether it be singing, dancing, playing Ceilidh
an instrument, telling a joke, or a recitation, share your talent with us.
Saturday Evening SC Dance
Wine Reception followed by a formal Banquet and the Ball.
