TEACHERS' ASSOCIATION (CANADA)
THE SILVER JUBILEE SCHOLARSHIP FUND
This fund was established in 1973 as an endowment bursary system, providing
scholarships based on financial need to candidates wishing to attend
Teacher Candidate Classes at T.A.C. Summer School.
It was designated as THE SILVER JUBILEE SCHOLARSHIP FUND in 1983, our
Silver Jubilee Year, when it was given a firm financial footing following an appeal by
the Chairman of the Teachers' Association (Canada) to all members and interested
friends to donate monies into a trust fund. The interest earned by the fund
finances the scholarships.
The following two scholarship categories are available for the designated candidate
level and may be granted subject to the approval of the T.A.C. Chair, Treasurer
and Candidate Course/Summer School Director. The amount given is dependent
on the number of applicants and whether other sources of support are available.
THE ALLIE ANDERSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS
(for Preliminary Test Candidates)
THE GLADYS McLELLAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS
(for Teacher's Certificate Candidates)
The application must be countersigned by a Branch or Affiliated Group Chair or
Secretary, or by a qualified teacher of Scottish Country Dancing who is currently a
member of the Teachers' Association (Canada). The completed application form
must be submitted to the Candidate Course/Summer School Director.
